I pray this post finds you well. I have a powerful article for writers who want to dive deeply into monetizing their expertise by highlighting their specialty for others. And today, I will give you 10 different types for you to consider. There are certainly many more out there, but this article will give you an extensive overview of some highly-profitable writing ventures that you can explore.
For the most part, every Writerpreneur has an idea of what he or she wants to write and why. But not many actually think about how they can capitalize on their expertise and eventually make a profit from it. In truth, anybody can earn a living from doing almost anything if she or he is willing to apply pertinent principles to see that task accomplished. In today’s lesson, I want to help you identify your expertise so that you, too, can make a profit from it, all the while building upon your ability to be a successful entrepreneur.
When you think of the word “expertise,” what comes to mind?
Perhaps you envision a person with several degrees and decades of experience working in a certain field; and if so, you would be correct. But expertise also involves someone who spent quality time learning a skill or trade, and then being in a position to train others in that skill. For example, as a writer, you may have developed a strong skill in producing multiple books each year. I have seen authors do this, and it always amazes me how efficiently they publish their works for their audience. This, my dear #EmpoweredWriterpreneurs, is a skill that can be transferred into profit. Think of what it would be like to learn from someone who does this so routinely. There are people, a tribe, willing to pay for expertise like this. Now, consider how this same principle can be applied to your entrepreneurship. What do you perform so easily that others find difficult to accomplish? Think about the skills that you would list on your resume, and ask yourself how you can maximize profit from it. After all, if someone else is willing to hire you to work for them based on your resume, then you can transform that same interest into clients who would hire your expertise.
Here’s another strategy to consider: Think about the one topic you love to talk about the most, and use that to develop your brand.
In fact, whenever people see you, they know exactly the type of conversation they will have with you. If you find yourself in this type of setting, guess what? That’s your brand…that’s your expertise. There are plenty of ways that you can generate a profit from talking about a subject that matters to others. For example, you can create a speaking platform for your brand that centers on handling children with special needs (a specific need). You can also write multiple books about that subject and sell it as a course or workshop.
Another strategy is to identify a particular type of professional writing that you are interest in learning.

I am really interested in learning grant writing because I believe this type of work will really expand into virtual land very soon, and a yearly contract with this type of work will be outstanding! Perhaps there is a specialty that you like. If you can come up with a creative plan, you may be able to land contracts with businesses by offering them your professional writing services. So, take a look.
Writers in this field generally produce content specific for online consumption. There are a number of online companies that will hire freelance or independent contractors to write content for their websites. Types of copy produced for this line of work include articles, reviews, online scripts, and much more. To find a list of jobs related to web content writing, visit Indeed.com. Type in the key words, “web content,” and you will find a list of jobs related to this field.
Simply put, a blogger is one that creates content for a blog. This is a platform for people to express themselves in a traditionally informal manner. Fortunately, there are a number of companies that look to hire bloggers to compose blog posts for a company’s website. Keep in mind that not all companies who post these job ads are looking to provide financial compensation for your work. Many want volunteer efforts, and that’s not always such a bad idea. I was a Contributing Writer for a blog named DeliberateMagazine.com. I came across this opportunity on Indeed.com. While it was not a paying opportunity, it was certainly valuable to me. As a contributing writer/blogger, I increased my exposure to other writers and readers that I may have never come across. For me, contributing in this way helped to generate potential clients who may have read my posts through that platform. Depending on how well you develop this venture, you may generate a strong following, thereby establishing yourself as an expert magazine writer. This was my first time doing it; and to be honest, it’s exciting to see two of my articles in it. This is something that I have added to my professional portfolio.
There are a great number of jobs that will allow a writer to contribute to a corporation’s need for effective communication. Other names for this job title are Corporate Communications Specialist, Communications Director/Manager, and others. When you conduct a job search of this title, be sure to look for the various job descriptions to get an idea of what other names are associated with it. Generally speaking, corporate writers create content specific to a corporation. This is typically for the purpose of communicating with the company’s audience. If you have experience in this industry and enjoy writing, consider offering your services to companies as a freelance corporate writer. Even if they are not looking to hire one as an employee, they may be willing and able to hire you on an independent contractor basis.
Grant Writing is generally relegated to non-profit organizations that are looking to secure grants for the running of their organizations. Grant writers are in demand, and you can find a number of jobs related to this field. Grant writing involves a number of technical skills, especially those involving strong research and analysis skills, strong critical-thinking skills, and much more. While it may not be as popular a field in terms of providing remote work, you may be able to work with a company near you that is willing to hire on a contractual basis. For some organizations, especially smaller non-profits, this works well for them because the costs associated with hiring a full-time employee can be high. Therefore, hiring a freelance grant writer may be a viable option for them.
Real Estate Writing
As the title suggest, a real estate writer is one that composes content for real estate agencies. There are a number of freelance opportunities in this area. Some of the job descriptions ask for writers who are knowledgeable in the areas of writing blogs, press releases, articles, social media posts, and more as they pertain to the real estate company.
If you are a writer that wants to help charitable organizations, whether as a grant writer or communications specialist, then consider non-profit writing as your area of expertise. You can develop your business plan around this field, and find yourself giving back to your community in more ways than one. Keep in mind that non-profit organizations generally compensate their writers far less than corporate organizations, so if you’re looking to get rich here, this may not be the best option for you. But if you want to put your work into the service of helping the organizations that need it, try this one out.
Ghostwriting is a field in which a writer completes content for another person without receiving any credit. This is one of the services that LiyahAmore Publishing provides. It is expected that one should be well-versed in medical terminology.
Technical writers are those who have a remarkable skill at taking complex information and translating it into simple form. But within this very broad definition are advanced skills that one should possess. For example, a skilled technical writer should be able to convey information accurately to a targeted audience. In writing technological materials, for instance, it is up to the technical writer to create documents that may assist an average customer in understanding software materials. Technical writing is highly concentrated in areas such as business and corporate organizations. Internal communication is paramount to their success; and thus, having a technical writer can make this communication more feasible to its internal audience.
Although you may find yourself wanting to spend the majority of your time writing content for your own website, blog, or other platform, keep the option open to provide writing services to others, including businesses. One of the challenges in working with private clients is that not everyone who says they will hire you actually hire you. Private clients can be very fickle. So, by making connections, even with other businesses or corporations, which have the ability to pay you a hefty contract, you actually position yourself and your company to increase your financial potential. I am in the process of doing this very thing, and I am confident that it will work because the demand for skilled writers is there.
