Greetings Ministry Leader,
Welcome to another Empowering Post where I share powerful tips that will help you expand your reach, build your ministry, and experience the magnitude of your calling.
In today's article, I will teach you about the role that having a writing ministry has on doubling your church's membership.
And if you have the faith to believe God for this type of growth, then I am confident that you will receive this message.
So, let's get straight into today's teaching.
There are Numerous Methods for Growing Your Church, But Only a Writing Ministry Can Guarantee Results
I recently performed a Google search of "how to grow a church," and found that there were over 200 million related articles on this topic.
Church growth is one of the primary struggles for smaller churches, and discovering different methods to break through that barrier is paramount to Ministry Leaders.
Some of the best articles will teach you that church engagement is key...that with just 300 engaged members, you can have a healthier church than with 3000 dead weights. And that's true. Engagement is key. If the people who attend your ministry aren't doing anything to push your vision, then other people will not join.
I came across another article that said "there is no magic formula for church growth." The writer adds different strategies that a Pastor can use to bring in new people, particularly by focusing on building a dynamic children's and youth ministry. And all that is wonderful.
But there is something that I want to point out that I believe is a major flaw in those who are trying to help churches grow: These "experts" continue to tell Ministry Leaders that "there isn't a formula for growth." And that simply is not true.
There is a formula. In fact, thriving businesses operate on formulas all the time. They have systems in place that allow them to predict future revenue. They use numbers and data to inform their decisions; and they make wise investments that propel their organizations each year.
If they work for businesses, can't they surely work for ministries?
The answer to this is YES! But people inside the Church refuse to accept the fact that there are laws, principles, and formulas that spur growth in every facet of life, especially in ministry. And because they don't receive such teachings, their ministries do not grow.
There are formulas for success...if you will believe.
Let's look at a biblical example. In Acts, we read that on the Day of Pentecost, 3,000 souls were added to the Kingdom. That's just in one day.
Did the apostles pass out flyers? Did they hold a tent meeting to garner more members?
No. All they did was speak to a large crowd, witness about the power of Christ, and convince the people to repent and be saved.
BOOM. 3,000 added in one day!
This is exactly the same method that businesses use today. In fact, they call this type of "marketing" evangelism. Can you believe that? The business world has now adopted a spiritual, biblical term for their own use.
The formula to church growth is not a new program or an added service. It is in the power of evangelism and the use of the written and spoken word. SO. SIMPLE.
And that's why I strongly believe that smaller churches who have a vision to grow must become strategic in their efforts to build a thriving writing ministry that will evangelize their mission to their communities. When done well, church growth is inevitable, and in the next section, I will show you how.
Why Limit Your Church's Membership When the Virtual Sphere Can Bring in Multitudes?
Notice that in the same story of Acts, Peter spoke to a crowd that had intentionally gathered in one place for one purpose: to celebrate Pentecost.
Isn't it interesting that the Holy Spirit did not rest on the disciples until tens of thousands of people would be in one location to see His manifestation?
In the virtual sphere, this is exactly what's happening. There are billions of people, congregating on social media and in niche networks to discuss matters that are important to them. And while smaller churches are so focused on adding physical members to their ministries, they are completely avoiding the people who basically live in virtual land.
Each day, Ministry Leaders miss out on the chance to minister to hundreds of people within their own sphere of online influence. Each day, Ministry Leaders lose another opportunity to connect with people who are looking for spiritual guidance and a place to call their home. And because most churches won't take advantage of the great online hubs, they struggle in church growth.
Who says that your church has to be just a geographical location? Not when you can have hundreds of online members, who support your ministry, no matter where they live. You can have congregants that live across the country and still give towards your work of ministry; and this will only come by your willingness to build a writing ministry within your overall church.
Let's say that you have 100 members right now. Develop your writing ministry platform, and implement the principles that I teach in my school, and within 60 days, you can easily have 250 loyal members. It is just that simple.
The more you engage with the people who follow you online, the more they will spread word about your ministry and its physical location. I know this for a fact.
At one time, I lead a virtual bible study called Let's Talk Jesus-Sacramento. And because I went to my virtual audience with this work, more women wanted to connect with my father's ministry. In fact, some of the women started attending the physical church BECAUSE I went to them in virtual land.
The same method and formula happens for my writing ministry. Because I'm active in building this work and speaking to the people on social media, more members join my school, my network, and my tribe. At one time, it took me less than 90 days to build one of my online groups to 350+ people.
And churches can do the same thing, if they are willing to put aside their preconceived notions about the virtual sphere, and start engaging with the people who hub in certain online spaces.
This is what I help Ministry Leaders like you accomplish. I will work with you to build a writing ministry that will help you reach your goals. I will assist you in putting together something so dynamic, you will begin to see your membership grow exponentially. I strongly believe that revival will happen in our time, and I can see it occurring in the virtual sphere as well. But if you want to be a part of it, then you have to do what's necessary to bring it pass.
It starts by teaching you the same principles that I do with my Christian Authors, because that's essentially what you would also be when you build your writing ministry. And in the next couple of sections, you can learn how I help leaders like you build your work.
