Bless the Lord, Christian Author!
Welcome to another Empowering Post.
I am Felecia Killings, the Founder of LiyahAmore Publishing, and my mission is to help you cultivate the writing ministry of your dreams.
I fulfill this assignment by delivering to you advanced training resources that are guaranteed to help you reach your goals as one of God's anointed writers.
Each month, I provide my audience and e-mail subscribers with FREE, powerful lessons that dive into the many areas of Christian writerpreneurship.
And with my latest teaching, I am focusing on how to help you market and promote your writing ministry the right way.
In the first lesson in this series, I taught you about the power of content marketing.
This is your ability to produce materials that inform, educate, empower, and/or entertain your audience even before asking it for a sale.
Content marketing is the best method for promoting your ministry, and this is one of the reasons why I spend so much time training my students in this area.
Now, for today’s post, I want to spend some time discussing what I think is crucial for every author, and that is one’s ability to conduct and host live webinars for his or her audience.
Since conducting my own webinars, I have witnessed its profound effects.
And I am so confident that when you take the time to develop your own webinars, you will see how this will add credibility and authority to your brand.
Not only that, but it will help you increase your book sales or sales for any product or service that you offer.
Webinars are just that powerful.
It’s interesting to me that not many authors employ this technique.
So many of them want to host speaking engagements, but very few have actually taken the time to conduct webinars, which can help them open the doors for other speaking opportunities.
This has been my testimony and that of many other entrepreneurs and writers.
Each time we make ourselves available online, we give other people a chance to experience our expertise.
And over time, because we are consistent with our work, we begin to experience a harvest.
And I want to help you discover how you can witness this in your own writing ministry using the lesson in this article.
Now, just a warning: This article will be rather extensive, but I want to ensure that you learn the following information:
So, let's spend some time together.
And feel free to use these strategies that I will teach, because I know that they will work wonders for you as they do for me.
The Power of Webinars
Do you have a message to share with others?
Of course, you do!
That's why you made the decision to walk in your calling as God's anointed writer.
But what do you in order to get that message to the right audience?
This is one of the challenges that new Christian Authors encounter, and it's one of the main reasons why so many of them fail within their works.
It's not uncommon for me to hear new authors make the assumption that because God gave them the idea to write a book, then it's God who will do all the work to make it a success.
This is a widespread belief, and one that I challenged in a recent post, which I recommend that you read today.
Building your writing ministry will require more than what you assume, because you're entering a field that will require you to exercise best business practices.
In other words, the same way that other successful businesses thrive, you will also have to learn the science behind their success so that you see great results in your ministry.
This is one of the primary lessons that I teach my students, because it's important that you adjust your mindset so that you make way for your progress.
Now, when it comes to building and scaling your writing ministry, effective marketing and promoting will make this possible.
And the best way to accomplish this is by employing content marketing methods that will help you build relationships with readers online.
Relationships are the key to your success, because when built correctly, these connections can:
And trust me, I know from experience.
From the moment I decided to implement content marketing into my ministry, my brand and influence have grown significantly.
And while there are multiple ways that you can engage in content marketing, one of the best strategies for new Christian Authors is to conduct webinars.
Now, in its basic definition, webinars are like seminars but on the web.
They can be as formal or as informal as you desire, and you can develop them at no cost to you or to your audience. (You can also charge, though, if you so desired.)
Webinars are an excellent way for you to promote your books or other products by giving your audience sneak-peeks into what you have to offer.
You can conduct webinars live or have replayed videos, whichever works for you and your audience.
And you can create them on free platforms like Facebook, or use more high-tech platforms like WebinarJam™.
Webinars are a form of content marketing, which as you may know, is a type of strategy that goes deeper than traditional marketing.
With traditional marketing, you rely heavily on ads to drive leads; but this is also very costly and less effective when used exclusively.
Traditional marketing generally relies on promoting to a broad audience in hopes that some people will make a purchase.
To the contrary, content marketing, while more labor-intensive for you, is highly profitable because it provides a greater return on investment (more sales, greater brand awareness, etc.).
When you engage in this type of promotion, you are giving more of yourself to your audience even before asking for a sale. (I'll share with you how I implement this with my writing ministry shortly.)
If you neglect to perform content marketing with your authorship, you won't last online.
And as you will come to learn, online marketing can dramatically increase your chances of receiving offline opportunities.
While there are millions of people who employ one of the most well-known forms of content marketing—blogging—webinars are a great tool to use, and not as employed routinely as they could be.
In fact, employing webinars into your marketing plan as a Christian Author provides a high-engaging, powerful experience for your readers.
And here's why.
The Many Benefits of Conducting Webinars
By now, if you're not convinced that conducting webinars is for you, let me persuade you further with some encouraging data to support my beliefs.
1.) Video marketing is such a powerful tool that businesses can use today.
According to recent studies, videos help to increase conversions and ultimately lead to sales.
(This is, of course, only effective when you have a dynamic ministry set up and a sales funnel ready to generate more income--a powerful lesson that I teach my students in the Empowered Writerpreneurs Program.)
Buyers are more willing to purchase a product or service when they see it in operation through videos.
And as you can deduce, webinars are a type of video marketing tool that you can use to bring on more readers and eventual buyers.
2.) Webinars help to establish credibility and authority online.
Always remember this saying: People aren't impressed with what you say you can do. They want you to show them what you can do for them.
And that's what webinars help you to accomplish.
Webinars are your way of taking some of your empowering content and delivering a lesson, a training, or even a discussion panel that will address your book's topics.
This is what I often do with my own writing ministry.
Whenever I want to attract new audience members to my ministry, I take the time to conduct a pre-recorded webinar that will teach about a topic related to Christian publishing.
And because I'm delivering high-quality lessons that are actionable, this gives my viewers the confidence they need to trust my expertise.
3.) Webinars can reach anyone in the world who has internet access.
Have you ever wanted to go international with your ministry?
If so, then it's time to start conducting webinars.
Many of my videos have been seen by people in Africa, China, Germany, and many other countries.
While most of my audience resides in the United States, it's not uncommon for readers and buyers to connect with me from outside the states.
4.) Webinars provide a great way to interact with readers and buyers.
Long gone are the days when new businesses can simply expect people to buy their products because of their products.
Now-a-days, people want to connect with the faces behind the brands.
And conducting webinars can make that possible.
One of the reasons why I enjoy doing this type of video marketing is because I have the chance to hold conversations with my audience members.
If the people have questions or comments, I know that I can answer them in real time (if I do a LIVE recording).
This is a powerful way for people to build relationships with you.
And when people like you, they buy from you.
That's what the psychology of consumerism teaches us.
5.) Webinars help you sell your products without making your audience feel pressured.
For the most part, webinars are designed to teach your target audience something of value.
And whenever people come to a webinar like this, many people are expecting to expand their understanding by purchasing something that you will sell at the end of the event.
Most consumers know that it's impossible to receive all the knowledge and training that they need from just one webinar.
There's simply not enough time to discuss everything.
And so, for people who want to advance their training, they will willingly purchase any product or service that you offer within your webinar.
This has been my experience, and this is one of the reasons why I made video marketing such a pivotal content marketing tool in my ministry.
And here's how I put this strategy into practice.
EWP-TV for Christian Authors
As I've already shared with you, conducting webinars is a great way to showcase your expertise as a new Christian Author.
And one of the ways that I implement this in my ministry is by publishing new video training sessions on Facebook and archiving those videos over on YouTube.
My show is called EWP-TV, and each week, I provide a lesson on how Christian Authors can improve their current writing ministry.
I talk about the same topics that I discuss on my blog.
But because I know that my audience also enjoys visual learning, my videos have been instrumental in helping me to increase my brand's awareness.
Quite often, at the end of the video (or sometimes during the middle of it), I will discuss how my viewers can enhance their understanding of Christian Writerpreneurship when they enroll in my school.
Viewers who are interested in taking their training to the next level can do so by purchasing my premium materials (i.e. my school training).
And this is something that I can promote seamlessly within my webinars.
Now, if you're wondering if I have produced any sales from this type of content marketing method, I have.
In fact, I've generated thousands of dollars in product and service sales as a result of doing video marketing.
My results have come to me over time.
And they will only increase because with great video marketing, you have the opportunity to have your content seen by viewers years from now.
Here's another way that I implement webinars within my overall virtual ministry.
Reformation America with Felecia Killings
During late 2016, just before the national elections, I felt led by the Holy Spirit to lead a virtual bible study for Believers.
These bible studies are conducted on my Facebook page.
And my ministry's mission is to empower Believers to earnestly believe God for a mighty move of His Spirit during these next years.
My weekly broadcast discusses some of the major events that occurred nationally; and each webinar provides a teaching on whatever the Holy Spirit leads me to share.
This ministry is not only my tool for promoting the Gospel, but it's also coupled with my company's mission to empower Christian Authors like you.
As I do with EWP-TV, these LIVE webinars give me a chance to promote my books or other products that I'm selling.
For example, in 2019, I will be hosting a new training program for female prophetic writers called the Holy Spirit and You.
And I will use Reformation America to help me promote this.
One of the benefits of implementing webinars into my ministry and my business is that they have opened doors for more speaking engagements.
By being virtually present to talk to a worldwide audience, this gives people a chance to learn how I can impact their own audience with the message that I teach and share.
Because people have seen my teachings online via social media, I've been asked to do interviews, to be a guest speaker at different events, and much more.
While creating and conducting webinars does take up a lot of time and initial investment, they do open doors of opportunity that I wouldn't have if I decided to do nothing.
And if they can work for me, then they can work for you, too.
Enhance Your Marketing Potential
By now, I’m sure you are thinking about different ways that you can employ webinars into your marketing plan, and you should.
As an author, conducting regular webinars can really help your audience learn more about you and your books.
For example, you can take a chapter a month, and really expound upon it in the session. And once you have conducted the webinar, you can present the book as an offer to your audience.
You can also build momentum for your books as well as demonstrate your credibility with your audience using webinars.
Quite often, people know they want to purchase something of value from someone, but they don’t necessarily trust the person selling it. I’ve experienced this myself, and so will you.
And one of the ways that you can break down those barriers is by engaging with your audience and sharing snippets of your books through video presentations. Try it out for yourself and you will see.
I do want to express one caveat in this post, and it is this: Webinars are not meant for you take less seriously than an actual seminar.
The way you present yourself in an actual seminar is the same way that you ought to present yourself in the webinars.
You can’t view this strategy as less important because that affects your audience's attitude towards your work and your brand.
Remember this: People do not have to give you their time, and time is our most precious commodity, not our money.
And while you may be concerned with generating a sale, your audience is concerned with you not wasting its time.
So, be sure to give as you want to receive.
Take time to develop and practice your public-speaking skills.
Dress appropriately for your webinars.
And be sure to provide something of great value to them in exchange for their time.
